Instrumentos de medición más comunes y sus aplicaciones

In the world of metrology there are various measuring instruments, some are used to measure angles, capacity, density, length, temperature and weight, to name a few.

A measuring instrument is a piece of equipment that is used to compare proportions of magnitudes with a previously established unit of measure (pattern), and from this measurement results a number that gives us the relationship between the object we are studying and the unit of reference.

Measurement is completely instrument dependent and nowadays it plays a very important role for the world and any industry.

Some processes such as technological advances require measurements to be reliable and accurate, which is why new measurement instruments specific to each task have emerged over the years, but there are some more tools common ones that stand out:

-Multimeter: this is a very high-precision instrument as it allows measurements of hundredths of a millimeter. It is used to measure two or more electrical values such as volts, amps, and ohms. This tool is perfect for technicians in the electrical and electronic industries, according to Fluke.

-Length measurer: measure distances through a laser that is projected from the instrument to the point to be measured. This tool is used in trades such as construction, carpentry, and locksmith, to name a few.

-Goniometer: used to obtain angular measurements and is used by doctors and even scientists, but mainly in measuring glass and typography, for example.

-Height gauge: this instrument is mainly used in metrology and quality control laboratories, to perform all kinds of measurements and layout on parts such as axes of symmetry, centers for holes, etc. .

-Thermometer: it is used to measure the temperature of a body, substance, objects and even the environment. The thermometer has applications in industries such as chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical, to name a few.

-Vernier: used for industrial measurement of thicknesses and diameters. Useful in measuring internal and external distances of objects.:259 /span>

Knowing which instruments are appropriate according to the tasks that are performed is of the utmost importance to ensure correct measurement and operation of our equipment, but above all to ensure quality in each process .
